Salem Community Theatre's Auditions for Meshuggah-Nuns!
Fiddler on the Roof has been moved to next season. Our initial contract
for the rights to produce this show in August has been trumped by a
national touring company that closes their tour this June in Cleveland.
We vigorously appealed the production company’s denial with the facts
and issues, yet remarkably, our appeal was denied again on Thursday,
May 27th. But the show must on…
Please come to audition for the most appropriate Nunsense sequel, a
parody of our “Fiddler” predicament:
Meshuggah-Nuns! The Ecumenical Nunsense
Directed by Sarah Durham
Auditions: Mon. & Tues. June 7th & 8th @ 7 p.m.
Callbacks: Thurs. June 10th
Bring sheet music for a short song and a list of potential rehearsal
conflicts. Also wear clothing and shoes which will allow you to learn and do a simple dance routine.
All roles (4 nuns, Tevye & the Ship’s Purser) are open.
"After a week at sea, a cruise ship runs into a storm and several people become ill, including all the entertainers: the cast of Fiddler on the Roof. All expect the actor playing Tevye that is. The captain of the ship, knowing of the Sisters' show biz savvy, requests that the Sisters and Tevye put on a revue. The result: Meshuggah-Nuns! The Ecumenical Nunsense." We hope this is a welcome surprise.
Show runs from August 6th—August 15th |
